Dominican Republic

Rating and Review of the Dominican Republic (Las Galeras is located on the northeast side of the island)
Visits: 1
Number of weeks: 2

Accommodation
★★★★☆
There are plenty of accommodation in most price ranges in Las Galeras. We had two types of accommodation during our two week stay; a primitive bungalow situated in the middle of what not long ago was an uninhabited jungle and an apartment hotel with a charming garden and sea views. The latter option is one of the best accommodation we have had. The feeling of eating your own cooked breakfast on a porch, surrounded by exotic plants and the sea was a perfect start to the day.
Las Galeras is an all-inclusive hotels that are incredibly cozy storey houses and lawns that cover the entire hotel area. Had we chosen to treat themselves to this option had been unbeatable.

Food
★★★★☆
Many Europeans, mostly French, have taken up residence in Las Galeras and it shows in cousinen. It is easy to find good restaurants with varied menus. Supermarket Erna has really good ingredients, and we will to ourselves not to miss anything.

Sun & Bath
★★★★★
Wow, what stunning beaches there are here and you can choose from a dozen or so in the context of 10 km. No matter which beach you choose, it is almost deserted with no major tourist invasions. Playa Rincon is chosen as one of the Caribbean's 10 most beautiful beaches and we are only too!

Accessibility and Transport
★★★☆☆
We have not explored the island in as many ways as we would only be here for two weeks. The bus from Santo Domingo was cheap with a high standard. The internet is really fast, inexpensive and easily accessible!

Tours & Attractions
★★★★★
There are many things to find on here. The centerpiece is, of course valutflykterna which, however, limited in time Jan-March. As in many other places you can dive, snorkel, go on shore excursions, sport fishing, horseback riding in the jungle, quad biking etc, but unlike some other places, these high quality activities. Las Galeras offers a mind-boggling beautiful setting with urvacker nature!

Value for Money
★★★★☆
Dominican Republic (Las Galeras) is a very affordable travel options. Sure, there are certainly cheaper flights to other countries but if you want to travel to the Caribbean on your own and avoid charter and large hotel complexes, Las Galeras has a cozy and authentic village with moderate / little tourists.

Total
★★★★☆
Dominican Republic is undoubtedly one of the best countries we visited. There are Caribbean beaches, beautiful scenery, delicious food and activities to satisfy the most adventurous. You need not pay the shirt for the most part. We recommend it highly!
