Accommodation

During our stay in Cuba we stayed in hotels but never used us out of Casa Particulares which means that you stay with a Cuban family. Housing is relatively primitive with a single room and toilet. The family is offering to cook breakfast and dinner for a fee. Normal price for a CP is between 100-200kr per night.
Food

The food is rarely good in Cuba. You get better food at Casa Particulares than at most restaurants. Our expectations of the Cuban food was lower for each day that passed, and eventually we were happy to eat a dish that was not disgusting.
Sun & Bath

OJ, in Cuba we found really beautiful beaches with pudervit sand and turquoise waters. No direct tourist invasion on the beaches meant that we spent many hours of sunshine on the beach. Often it was not a cloud in the sky and some days fanned just the water from us. The beaches of Varadero is perhaps more beautiful than cozy. Had there been more bungalows and cozy beach bars had "Sun & Bath" easily got a fiver.
Accessibility and Transport

It is relatively easy and cheap to travel in the country by bus. Fresh buses with comfortable seats and AC. Domestic flights and train there but we never tried it. The internet is a joke, if a city SHOULD have an internet cafe, it is guaranteed to always be down. In Havana, it is slightly better internet cafes, but still too few.
Tours & Attractions

Cuba is the country to travel to the cultural and natural experiences. Havana is full of natural beauty and historic buildings and the beach road Malecon is a classic. We spent many hours at the museum, visit historical monuments and discovered that the Cuban history live very much today. Trinidad is probably the nicest and most romantic city we visited. The city is filled with cute little house in all possible colors. The streets are cobblestone and the horse with the cart-competing almost taxis. One of our best experiences was when we saw Vinales countryside on horseback. Better outdoor experience is hard to find!
Value for Money

Then we stayed at CP, it was good value for money. We would never choose all-inkclusivehotell in Cuba. The food is cheap but hardly affordable at restaurants. Transport and tours are very affordable if you do not book through a hotel. Build your own trip - it's cheaper and better!
Total

Cuba is probably the most violent country we visited. It is wonderful to experience Cuba's history in the present. The people are incredibly helpful and cheerful. The Cuban cigar lives up to its reputation, whether you buy it at the factory or by a farmer. It is delicious to take part of the Cuban party atmosphere with live salsa music and dancing. Cuba is one of the few countries that maintained their own identity despite the tourist influx. We tourists are left alone without nagging and pushy beach vendors. T.om turistmeckat Varadero still feels genuinely Cuban, but McDonald's or 7-11. The food is a disaster and bring down the overall rating significantly. Good thing there Mojitos!
